About Lynne Golodner
Lynne Golodner is the award-winning author of 13 books and hundreds of essays and articles as well as a marketing expert, writing coach and retreat leader. But more than all her many professional credentials, Lynne is a writer.
Since she was 6 years old, Lynne has been writing poems and stories as a way of making sense of the world and figuring out what she thinks. Writing is Lynne’s love language, her way of processing complex emotions and situations, to her path toward building bridges and understanding.
After working as a journalist in New York and Washington, D.C., and earning an MFA in poetry, Lynne returned to her Detroit hometown and created Your People, a marketing company with a focus on storytelling. Between 1996 and 2013, she wrote eight books that were traditionally published—two poetry collections and six nonfiction titles. In 2020, she pivoted to writing novels with a goal of producing a book a year.

Since 1996, Lynne has taught writing to children and adults. She’s created writing camps for children and led writers retreats around the world. From 2016-2020, she was the founder and CEO of One Earth Writing, a nonprofit that brought teens together across racial, religious and socioeconomic divides through a common love of writing.
Today, Lynne works with adults who’ve always longed to write but didn’t allow their inner voices to lead because of those pesky voices reminding them that writing is “a nice little hobby,” “not very lucrative,” or some other lie.
Lynne created The Writers Community to help writers take their voices seriously and finally put them first. She knows all too well that what you love can make a wonderful life—if only you trust your inner voice to speak the truth.
